DON MURPHY
Coach Murphy has been coaching volleyball for 18 years. He has coached for FAVOR for 9 years (14s, 15s, 16s, 17s and 18s teams) and been the Assistant Director for the past seven years. Don’s coaching experience began with a 10 and under team with MVSA. He coached girls recreation teams for four years with MVSA and was also an assistant coach for a junior boys team in Montgomery County. Don has received Coaching Accreditation Program (CAP) I and II certifications through USA Volleyball. He also has an IMPACT certification and has served as an instructor for numerous juniors clinics. Coach Don has played competitive volleyball for over 21 years. He has played in indoor and outdoor (grass and sand) tournaments and leagues including 2s, 3s, 4s and 6s. When he’s not coaching or playing volleyball, Don is the Marketing Manager for Curtiss-Wright, a consulting firm that provides services and products to the utility industry. Don lives in Frederick with his wife Sue (who is the webmaster and bookkeeper for FAVOR in her spare time).
