Hi everyone,

USAV and CHRVA mandated all tournaments and practices cancelled and facilities remain closed until April 30 .  It is in our best interests to reassess the season on 5/1.  If the Region lifts the mandate, we expect to fully finish the season.

Thank you for your patience,
FVBC

Hi everyone,

Last week, USAV and CHRVA mandated all tournaments and practices cancelled and facilities remain closed until March 31st.  It is in our best interests to reassess the season on 3/31.  If the Region lifts the mandate, we expect to fully finish the season.

Thank you for your patience,

FVBC Coronavirus Response

By FVBC 03/12/2020, 12:00pm EDT

Dear FVBC Families,

Our Club is closely following the COVID19 pandemic. The situation in the US is changing rapidly and it’s difficult to know what will happen next.

USAV and CHRVA has asked that all USAV tournaments scheduled through March 22 be postponed or cancelled. We have teams planning to attend USAV and CHRVA tournaments this weekend and they have all been cancelled, INCLUDING FVBC's home tournament this weekend.

As a club, we want to make sure our teams finish strong (and healthy) so in addition to the USAV and CHRVA recommendations, we have the following guidelines:

  • FVBC will cancel practices for tonight (Thursday 3/12).
  • The gym will be closed to all activities including private lessons, clinics, open gyms and tournaments until we re-evaluate Sunday night (3/15).
  • Families should notify us as soon as possible if a close contact or family member has a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing or has been diagnosed with any virus/flu.
  • Families should limit contact with older adults (60+). Older adults should not attend remaining tournaments or practices.
  • If a family member travels, they should refrain from coming to practices and tournaments for 2 weeks.
  • Players, coaches, and parents should continue to wash their hands before and after practices, tournament matches, eating, and refereeing.

FVBC will keep you updated on the latest COVID19 and CHRVA/USAV information. We are not ready to "throw in the towel" with regard to the remaining season.  Information is coming in hourly so we want to see what transpires over the next 72 hours.

WE WILL RE-EVALUATE SUNDAY (3/15) ON WHETHER THE GYM WILL RE-OPEN FOR PRACTICES THE WEEK OF 3/16.

Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or recommendations. We have our families best interests at heart and want to make sure we do everything we can to prevent our families from getting exposed.

Sincerely,
Frederick Volleyball Club
