The History of Frederick Volleyball Club

Frederick Volleyball Club has been around for more than 20 years.  Jim Dorsch, Ray Brown and Don Murphy had a vision to bring volleyball to Frederick.  So, they rented out gyms at schools and recreation centers to allow young athletes to learn to love and play the game of volleyball.  Soon, their love for the game and the strong skills each brought to the court created a large following of young and old interested in playing the sport.  Having outgrown the school gyms and rec centers, Frederick Volleyball Club became the first club, and still is the only club in the county, with their own training facility.  The facilities and coaches may have changed throughout the years but our goals have never changed:

(1) Instill a love for the game of volleyball;
(2) Teach teamwork and cooperation as a member of a competitive volleyball team;
(3) Develop athletes who strive to achieve both personal and team goals on a competitive platform.

Frederick Volleyball Club is committed to each and every athlete who walks through our doors.  Our passion for the game and love for our athletes is what will keep up going for another 20+ years.
