Boys High School Summer League

Calling all high school teams! The FVBC Boys High School Volleyball League is an opportunity for high school-aged volleyball players to develop volleyball skills in a fun and competitive atmosphere in preparation for the club volleyball season. The league will run for 7 weeks (6 weeks of pool play and 1 week for playoffs) starting July 13th and ending on August 24th. High School-aged athletes from Frederick and Montgomery Counties, as well as other surrounding counties in the DMV area, are welcome to form teams and participate.

NOTE: This league is not affiliated with MCPS, FCPS, or any other public school system.

WHO?

Teams formed from athletes from Frederick and the surrounding counties in the DMV. Athletes on teams do not all have to come from the same school.  2024 graduates are welcome to play!

COST?

$250 per team

DATES? (7 weeks)

Saturday mornings: July 13, 20, 27, August 3, 10, 17

Playoffs: August 24

TIMES?

Games start at 9:00am

Please arrive no later than 8:15am

 

Payment Clarification:

  • One registration for the total $250 per team must be paid in one payment online at the time of registration
  • Individual payments from athletes WILL NOW be accepted at FVBC.  Make sure you click on the individual registration on the registration form. Players registering as individuals will be formed into teams. 

Other Important Details:

  • Registrations will be considered "first come, first serve". We will only be accepting a maximum of 12 teams (minimum 8 players per team)
  • All teams formed must provide  their own coaches. These coaches do not have to be current high school coaches. Parents or other "adult" volunteers may be coaches for teams. We suggest that Coaches have some knowledge of the game of volleyball and be able to offer teams and players some level of coaching assistance.
  • Teams are not required to have a coach. For teams that do not have a coach, an experienced player on the team may be designated as the Team Captain.
  • We encourage teams to design their own team t-shirts and create their own team name.
  • Although we see this as a great way for athletes from the same school to get to know each other and play with each other, it is not mandatory that all players on a team come from one school.
  • Only current high school athletes allowed. You cannot play if you graduated in Spring 2024.
  • Work Team: Each team will provide a scorekeeper, two line judges, an R1 and R2. Play/Work schedules will be provided to the team and posted in their designated team camp area each Saturday morning upon arrival. Warm-ups will begin at 8:15am BEFORE the first match start time at 9:00am.
  • Optional Boys League Team Practice NightAll Boys League players and coaches may take advantage of an "optional" team practice night every Tuesday 7-9pm. The cost for each player is $10 each Tuesday night (payable by cash or venmo at check in). Only players on the roster of one of the Boys Summer League Teams may be in the facility on Tuesday practice nights and participate on the courts.
